Take Care of Yourself Before You Take Care of Others

I can’t stress the importance of taking care of yourself before you take care of others. I’m reflecting on the importance of this in light of my recent ER visit for chest pains.

So many times we tend to put our own health and well being last as we try to help and please the people around us. This is so backwards and unfortunate that we think this is OK! If you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will, and eventually you will suffer the consequences in many different shapes and forms. Then, you may even get stuck in a place of illness or unhappiness and as a result you won’t be able to offer any help or support to anyone else! TAKE CARE OF YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF OTHERS!!

YOU MUST value yourself enough to take the time and take care of yourself, before it’s too late. What’s it going to take for you to realize how important your health is and how important it is to take care of yourself. You’re all you’ve got when all is said and done. Be responsible for YOU for once.

Step back for a minute and look at your life. I know we are all different, have our own different lifestyles and circumstances but it might be time to sit back and take a look at your life, are you heading towards a health problem, are you doing too much, are you taking on too much work, stressed beyond stress. It might be time to make some changes and realize this is NOT healthy at all.

You don’t have time? No one seems to have the time to take care of themselves. Too busy with work, kids, family, household chores and so on. Who is going to take care of all of that when you get sick? Think about that next time and see if you’re too busy.

Seriously friends, it makes me upset and I know I get a little crazy about it all and I may sound a little rude. I just want people to realize they NEED to care about themselves and those around then enough to take the time to take care of themselves. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones.
