I can remember thinking I needed to lose weight or make a certain part of my body smaller as young as 14 years old.
Right then and there was the first time I started losing.
In this episode, I’m going to dive right into all that I lost through my years of on and off dieting. Sure, I lost a little weight here and there… BUT I can tell you today…I weigh more than I ever did when I was constantly trying to make some part of my body smaller or fit into a certain size.
All those years had me lost..pieces of me that I had to reclaim in order to be WHOLE again. I let the diet industry make me think I needed to be obsessed with all the numbers and my size…and for what?
I lost way more than a few pounds each time I went on a diet…I lost MYSELF. I lost my health, belief in myself, trust in my body…love, respect and acceptance for my body went right out the door.
I’ll never forget when I realized this and what all those years took away from me. Sadly, these exact feelings came from the diet culture…the same thing I ran to EVERY TIME I thought I needed to be “fixed”.
Go ahead and listen to the rest of my story as you may hear some similarities and if you do, just know you are not alone.
I discuss all the feelings that came along with this and how I have turned it around to not only help me but help so many other women out there in similar situations with weight loss.
