What are the Health Benefits of the Ketogenic Diet?

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

There are many health benefits of the ketogenic diet. Let’s begin with the oldest use of the keotgenic diet shall we? Epilepsy.

This was used in the early 1900’s to help with seizures and about 1/4 of the people who were eating a high fat, low carb diet either completely stopped having seizures and 1/3 have seen a substantial reduction in the number of seizures. Studies show it does work for some but not ALL.

Type 2 Diabetes:

It’s been shown to have a decreased need for insulin and even complete elimination of meds all together. I have seen this one first hand.  This low carb high fat diet for a diabetic actually combines 2 different approaches: 1.) eliminating foods that raise blood sugar levels AND 2.) Losing weight.

Cardio Vascular disease, metabolic syndrome and contributing factors:

I know in the past we’ve been taught that low fat is the healthiest way to go and high fat raises cholesterol levels which in turn will clog our arteries. Hmmm, is this right or wrong?

Take a look at what this heart surgeon has to say about it all. Dr. Dwight Lundell says: “I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.” CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

I know, this sounds crazy. Right?!?! BUT WHAT IF IT DOES WORK?

The ketogenic diet has also been know to benefit:

PCOS . IBS , diets low in sugar can improve the signs and symptoms,  GERD and heartburn(whole grains and sugar are the culprit) Makes sens to eliminate it doesn’t it. How about Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease?  did you know fat in the liver doesn’t come from our dietary fat but rather carbohydrates. Is this making sense as yo why CARBS should possibly be avoided in our diets?

There has also been evidence to show that the KETO diet also benefits Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s and Dementia.  Not to mention Schizophrenia, Bi Polar, Narcolepsy, Sleep Disorders and it also IMPORVES exercise performance.

Where am I getting this info from? A sweet little book called KETO CLARITY

You can get yourself a copy right from AMAZON…seriously, I urge you to do some research on your own. I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. BUT! Ask yourself this question:

WHAT IF?

What if this DOES have ALL of these health benefits? WHAT IF we could get off of all the meds that are causing these ill side effects and possibly even making us MORE SICK!!

Just think about that for a while…….
