Get What You Want Out of Life Episode 3: Are You Feeling Stuck?

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

If you’re saying everything is fine BUT you just feel you want something more out of life yet you’re not quite sure how to get it or what it is…you may be STUCK. If you feel like something is missing from your life and you can’t quite put your finger on it. You might be stuck.

If you are feeling stuck, be willing to take a look at your life and be honest with yourself about what is working and what needs to change. Your attitude and perception of a situation can make more of a difference than anything else. In the end, if we really want to get unstuck, we have to start with ourselves.

When you’re stuck, you and only you get to decide if you’re going to change. The only way to get unstuck is to change and start to build on it.

We know deep down that we have a good idea of what we’d like to change yet we come up with excuses instead of taking action and making the changes. We don’t follow through and take the steps needed to make it happen. We give up too quickly and we just simply don’t feel like doing the work.

It’s time to quit ignoring our dreams and time to take action. It’s time to be powerful and do it anyway. Make it happen, take action and get unstuck. The powerful you WILL figure it out.

We’ve all been there. Feeling stuck is very distressing, and it can often make a situation feel even more difficult than it already appears to be.

Many of us may have felt trapped in a job, a relationship, a place; any unfavourable situation, really, that we see little way out of can leave us feeling deeply discouraged.

The uncertainty of it all becomes overwhelming and, over time, paralyzing.

When I’m having trouble or feeling stuck, I use some of these small actions that can be helpful in creating space to move through and out of the undesirable situation:

Don’t wait for this-or-that to happen.

This is a big one. If you’re always waiting for something else to happen before you act, you won’t make proactive decisions in a way that’s in line with what you want. Quit waiting for the right time. The time is NOW!

Change Up Your Daily Routine

If you find yourself stuck, try mixing up your lifestyle. Get up earlier or later, and lengthen or shorten daily routines to make room for different activities. Switching things up enables you to access different parts of your brain, which can enhance your awareness and increase bursts of creativity. Every little step forward you take matters.

 Get Honest With Yourself

Don’t sabotage your own process, consciously or unconsciously, as a result of your fears and limiting beliefs. Sometimes, there’s a discrepancy between what you say you want and what you’re actually experiencing. Get honest with yourself about what it is you’re trying to accomplish and ask yourself if it’s really what you want.

Take Action Every Day

The choices you make every moment of every day truly do matter. When you take action and do little things every day that are in the direction you want to go, you make progress even when we don’t necessarily see any immediate gain. It can be tricky because those little things are just as easy not to do. They don’t seem like a big deal in the moment, it’s easy to negotiate away from doing them. Remember, it’s the small things, the ones that seem so insignificant they couldn’t possibly matter, that become compounded over time, and before you know it your mission has been accomplished.
