5 Reasons WHY Self Love is Important

We all love doing things for others. We take care of the things we love. We prepare things for our family, our mornings can be crazy busy making sure everyone’s ready for work and school, and by night time, we’ve stretched ourselves thin to get some decent-looking dinner on the table. Anything after that, good luck.

Feeling warn out and overwhelmed? What about the part where you take care of YOU? When do you get to give yourself the love YOU deserve?

Your first thought might be this: “My family comes first!” or “Work comes first!”

How will you take care of others if you don’t take care of YOU?!

You must have heard the old truth that we cannot love others if we cannot love ourselves. Love flourishes when we give it to other people, but love always starts with ‘me.’ We are the only ones responsible for our life, choices and deeds so we just have no right to be neglectful of ourselves.

Well, if you have been feeling down, stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, or just plain “out of it” lately – this may as well be the reason – You’ve pushed yourself to the bottom of the list.

Here are five reasons why self love is so important:

1. When you love who you are, you accept who you are

Accepting who you are and where you’re at is step 1. You may not be satisfied with where you’re at but you must accept it and learn to move forward with love. Loving yourself doesn’t mean that you should stop improving yourself.

It gives a great sense of confidence. When you accept who you are, you feel no need to counterfeit someone or compare yourself to others. And this is the most powerful and inspiring feeling ever.

2. Self-love lets you enjoy life more.

Self-love will definitely allow you to see that there are so many reasons out there for you to enjoy life. You’ll find joy in simple pleasures of life. It’s the small things that make us appreciate the bigger things in life. When you stop for just a few minutes to enjoy you and your life, you’ll appreciate things so much more.

3. When you love yourself, the world around you changes

It enables you to look at things, people and life from another perspective, better perspective. Self-love can make you a better person. It improves your physical, psychological and emotional state. Give it a try and you’ll see that you attract more good people and circumstances into your life.

4. Self-love makes you do your best – for YOU.

Self-love motivates you to keep on improving, to strive to be the best version of you. You will continue to grow as a person and improve your abilities and widen your horizon. You will take the time to eat healthier, and exercise,  because you understand just what your body needs to be at its best.

YOU are your body’s BEST caretaker.

5. If you love yourself, you are more likely to have better relationships

When you love yourself, you know what you deserve. When you love yourself you will never be ill-treated. And this is very important for a healthy, happy  life.

Always be positive about yourself because when people experience it, they feel and look good, are effective and productive, and they respond to others and themselves in healthy, positive, growing ways.
