What to Do When Life Knocks You Down

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Life WILL knock you down, not once, but many times. Sometimes, when you least expect it. It’s all about HOW you deal with it that matters. What do you do when life knocks you down? Get back up and fight!
It happens to the best of and sometimes, we’re knocked down by things or people that we thought would never take us that low. If this should happen to you, and it will, sorry, not sorry, you have to know how to handle it. So, when it happens you have 2 choices. You can cry about it and give it all up and quit OR you can cry about it and pick yourself back up and get back at it.
See, it’s pretty much up to you as to how you handle it all when you get knocked on your keester. I know, it’s not fun nor is it the best feeling in the world. You just want to crawl up in a ball and wither away. Trust me, I’ve been knocked down many times in life. Some times are harder than others to get back at it BUT I just keep swimming.
I’ve seen many people get knocked down and not get back up and I’ve seen other people who literally take the hardest blow in life and get back up even stronger and more powerful. So what’s the difference? Why do some get back up fighting and others just stay down? CONFIDENCE and BELIEF! That’s where I think it all lies for most of us.
Our confidence gets rocked and we feel like all the efforts we put into something was a waste of time. We get depressed and feel unworthy and don’t seem to have an ounce of energy to get ourselves out of it. I get it! I think we all can relate to feeling this way one time or another. Know that it’s normal and that it happens to everyone from time-to-time. You have to realize that this is a temporary state…If you let it be.
Don’t let these life challenges throw you off track. Believe in yourself and have the confidence to keep going. This is actually a character building experience for you, whether you realize it or not, you’re becoming a stronger person by picking yourself back up. This is all part of your story. You are the author and you get to guide the finish line of it all. You get to decide how to write your ending.
Here’s the thing, if you never got knocked down, you would have no success stories. You are never defined by what knocked you down, but always defined by the character you had while getting back up! Life is meant to be lived, not to coast through the express lane. Get out and be the amazingly awesome person that you are!
